What is coaching?

At its core, coaching is based on the concept that people are naturally creative and resourceful. It focuses on working with individuals to discover and unlock their innate and unique potential and to support transformation. Coaching fosters moving beyond what is comfortable and predictable.  It concentrates on identifying where the individual is now, where they want to be, and how to get there.

Behaviors or habits that “sabotage,” zap energy, and hold back success are identified and explored. Techniques are employed and practiced to  reduce or eliminate the impact of those sabotaging tendencies that “get in the way” and create roadblocks. Creative thinking, resilience, and a growth mindset are developed through the process.

Culture building

In addition to enhancing individual growth through coaching, a culture of coaching benefits institutions as a whole by facilitating and increasing the success and momentum of significant transitions, building leadership and synergistic teams, and succession planning.

Executive Coaching: It Works found that coaching resulted in positive change in five areas: people management, relationships, goal setting and prioritization, engagement and productivity, and dialogue and communication.

Results

Challenges, particularly those associated with change, can be effectively navigated with the support of individual and team coaching. Creating such a culture results in increased ROI and ROE (return on energy) by fostering high morale, elevated personal and professional happiness, decreased burn-out, effective collaboration and client satisfaction, and enhanced ability to attract and keep talent.

The return on investment of executive coaching is well documented, with studies showing that firms gained an ROI six times greater than the cost of coaching, revealing both tangible and intangible impacts (i.e. increased productivity and profitability, reduced turnover, improved teamwork and client relationships).
